CANDICE CAVANAUGH Owner, Director, Teacher

Candice is a certified fitness instructor through the American Council on Exercise (ACE), and a certified personal trainer through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA). She also studied dance for over a decade. Candice was proud to be WIVB-TV’s "Fitness Expert" and Artvoice’s fitness columnist; both for two years! Candice is happily married to Greg (The Fit Physique’s "behind the scenes" guy) and proud mom of Charlie!


KELLEY LEWANDOWSKI AND SHERI KESSEL Front Desk, Customer Service

Kelley and Sheri help make what makes The Fit Physique so special, happen! They’re the cheery voices on the phone, the handwriting on your mail, and the answers to your questions. Students themselves at The Fit Physique (and their daughters!), Kelley and Sheri know and understand all the particulars of what keeps The Fit Physique running so smoothly and happily. They are Candice’s right arm and are glad to be of service to all students at The Fit Physique!


AIMEE KINSLEY Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop Instructor

Aimee studied theatrical tap, jazz, and ballet for ten years through a variety of studios and instructors; including Betty Rogers, Debonaire, David DeMarie, and Darlene Ceglia’s Dance Project. She has participated in regional and national group competitions, including Dance America, receiving many awards. Aimee has also performed in various charity events, telethons, fundraisers, and Curtain Up! Amazingly, Aimee’s full-time job is being one of Buffalo’s few female firefighters!


SHERI KESSEL CardioDance, Yoga, and BodySculpting Instructor

Sheri has proudly taught fitness at The Fit Physique for over 6 years. She is a certified fitness instructor through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA). She danced in the Rochester area, and has been involved in various dance and drama productions. As well as being a singer, drummer, and hairstylist, Sheri is also happily married to Jim and the proud mom of Hannah and Leah.


MICHELLE TAYLOR Tap, Jazz, and Mommy and Me Instructor

Michelle enjoys her time at The Fit Physique as both a dance instructor and a fitness student. With a master’s degree in interdisciplinary arts for children, and bachelor’s degrees in elementary and special education, Michelle is pleased to be putting all three of her degrees to good use! She is the administrator for The Arts Experience; a program which offers visual art, dance, music, theatre, and creative writing to adults with developmental disabilities. Michelle loves choreographing musicals for schools and community theatre. As for herself, she acts, sings, and dances. She has studied dance since the age of three and is trained in tap, jazz, and ballet. Michelle is a seasoned dance instructor for both children and adults.


BONNIE TAYLOR Ballet Instructor

Bonnie began her dance training at age 3 under the careful instruction of her mother, Lisa Taylor (Lisa Taylor Academy of Ballet and Dance Arts). She has trained extensively in Ballet and Pointe technique, having passed her Cecchetti Council of America Student Exams Standard B, Grades 1-4, and Professional Elementary. She also has passed the Professional Intermediate Exam, and the Grade IV Dance Teacher Exam- which means Bonnie is qualified to teach students up to the professional level! With the Academy, she has performed in many local performances, and also danced with Pick of the Crop’s Seedling Company, where she received modern dance training from director Elaine Gardner. As an actor/singer/dancer, Bonnie has performed feature roles at many area theatres- the Kavinoky Theatre, Jewish Repertory Theatre, and Road Less Traveled Productions, to name a few! She has also danced with Buffalo Contemporary Dance for the Elmwood Arts Festival and M and T Plaza Event Series. Bonnie’s teaching experience began at age 9 as a class assistant. She soon became a Rehearsal Assistant for student roles in Pick of the Crop productions, and toured with the company. She is a graduate of SUNY Buffalo, with a BA in Theatre. She is also a member of the Cecchetti Council of America.


KANDI SORDETTO Tap Instructor

Kandi brings many years of dance experience to The Fit Physique! She trained at Lorraine Goddard for 14 years, and was a tap assistant there. She has paticipated in numerous dance competitions, and was an All-American Cheerleader for four years. Kandi enjoys ice skating, crafts, and gardening in her spare time. She is happily married to Anthony and busy mom of Serena and Gabrielle, who also dance at The Fit Physique!


MARRE KINSLEY Tap Instructor

Dancing since age 3, Marre took a significant break from the art throughout her adolescence. Never losing her love of dance, she resumed her training as an adult. Marre has danced with Betty Rogers, David DeMarie, and Darlene Ceglia, but received her most extensive training with her daughters, continuing through the present at The Fit Physique. Marre works professionally as a Surgical Assistant in the dental field. Marre is extremely excited to be teaching again this year for the Fit Physique. She shares much experience, knowledge, energy, and the love of dance with her students!


CRYSTAL OHNMEISS Tap Instructor

Crystal is a graduate of Fredonia State College with a Bachelor of Science and a focus in Dance Studies. She has danced for over 20 years, studying a variety of dance styles throughout Western NY.  Crystal holds champion titles in national and world dance competitions. She performed with "The Unique Dance Company" of Buffalo and "Orchesis" Dance Company with SUNY Fredonia. She is also an instructor with "The Arts Experience", teaching dance and dance aerobics to adults with developmental disabilities. Crystal’s 9 years as a dance teacher include teaching ages 4 to adult in the areas of tap, ballet, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, flamenco and Afro-Caribbean. The Fit Physique is very excited to have Crystal with us this year!





AMANDA MAZIARZ  Ballet Instructor


Amanda brings over 15 years of dance experience to The Fit Physique! She studied tap, jazz, and ballet with various instructors, all having very different styles. She began her training at Michelle Merwin Dance Arts, and from there moved on to advanced classes at Tonawanda Dance Arts and Darlene Ceglia’s Dance Project. While dancing at Dance Project, she participated in many regional competitions and workshops, and performed at Curtain Up! Amanda graduated from the Dance Masters of America Teachers Training School in 2006, where she completed examinations in tap, jazz, and ballet. She is excited to be teaching at The Fit Physique and looks forward to sharing her love and knowledge of dance with her students. We are very happy to have Amanda with us this year!
